back in Thailand!

Hi!

I know it has been a while since my last post...
After an amazing and inspiring conference in Poland i spent 4 lovelzy days in Switzerland & France, catching up with old friends. I arrived back in Bangkok last Saturday evening. So what did i do since then...?
  • Slept a lot (to get over my jetlag)
  • Ate a lot (sooooooo happy to be able to eat delicious Thai food again!)
  • Worked a lot (preparing for recruitment & induction, writing ER proposals, PBoX team meeting)
  • Moved from Rangsit to Sathupradit (I now live in the "Swiss Flat" - Laura´s place)
  • Said "goodbye" to Laura, as she goes travelling around Thailand before flying home next week

Right now i am feeling quite sick, but hopefully i will better again tomorrow and hope to see you very soon!

One last thing - this weekend i am going to a VERY cool event... we have been invited by the WORLD BANK to a conference where they want to know what YOU think are the biggest problems facing Thailand right now. Sounds to good to be true...? Its NOT - just send me a mail or an sms and i will send you details of how you can attend this great event.

Back from IC Poland...:-)

Hey all my happy people, finally am back from IC, the only one so far. I must say it was truely an amazing experience. I wouldnt trade it for anything. I meet very many amazing and passionate AIESECers, individuals who believe in themselves and AIESEC especially from Asia Pacific Region. Most of all we gathered contacts from all around the world to assist us in the year of the phoenix term.

To me IC Poland was a dream come true, it was the conference i have been looking forward to since IC India Last year, it was the most inspiring international conference for me... All the sessions I attended have added value to my AIESEC career, especially for our term... There are so many things to share and learn from other individuals around the world... IC for me was all about meeting amazing individuals, whom appreciate who they are and their effort in making this world a better place for the future generation. Catch me for more details on my IC Poland experience.

I would also like to congratualate all the individuals who got selected for the National Teams, looking forward to working with all of you. National PBoX team first meeting is this Sunday see you all there.

As I always say AIESEC in Thailand we are about to ROCK Asia Pacific like craze. Watch out for this space.

To be honest I had missed Bangkok especially my Rice and Chicken (Khaw man Ghai), and my Mr. Bun. So good to be back.

Rina.

Open Space Workshop

A very cool and exciting event, organised by the world bank is coming up!
Youth Open Space Workshop! And they invited us - AIESECers - to join them! Check out the invitation:

"I am pleased to inform you that the World Bank in Thailand will organize a
Youth Open Space Workshop in Bangkok on September 16-17, 2006. The purpose
of this event is to give the Bank and its partners an opportunity to listen to
the concerns and needs of youth from diverse backgrounds, and discover what
local and international development agencies can do to improve their lives.

Using the Open Space technology, which is designed to put
the agenda and discussions into the hands of the meeting’s participants, youth
will set their own agenda under the theme of “Challenges and Opportunities - How
to create a brighter future for Thai youth?” The session will be
facilitated in Thai, along with simultaneous translations into English by youth
volunteers.

By organizing the Youth Open Space event, the World
Bank also hopes to build a stronger partnership with your organization and in
the long term, find viable solutions to the issues addressed during the
workshop.
Therefore, we are pleased to invite AIESEC to
participate in the Thailand youth open space workshop, and hope that one of your
representatives will be able to attend."
Alix-Ines Lebec, Communications Associate, World Bank Office
Take up this absolutely cool opportunity! Contact me - Laura - to send you the application form and agenda. It will be cool to have many of you there!
